Your nose is the most defining feature of your face and one of the first things people notice about you. Rhinoplasty is the formal term for surgery that reshapes the nose. It involves manipulating the bony, cartilaginous, and soft tissue elements of the nose to improve breathing and at the same time enhance the aesthetic appearance of the nose.
What should I expect?
- Incisions can be either completely inside the nose or hidden at the bottom part of the nose (columella).
- Do expect some swelling and bruising right after surgery. It will gradually resolves over the next few weeks.
- You'll be discharged to home on the day of surgery.
- Packing will be placed inside your nose at the end of surgery to hold the newly repositioned tissue in place. About five days after surgery, Dr. Ho will remove your nasal dressings.
- You can return to work or school a week after surgery.
